DAY FOR AFRICA
On Sunday, June 6, Southside Church (777 Robinson Road, Peachtree City, GA 30269) is presenting, “A Day for Africa” at its 9:30am and 11:15am services. The morning will be filled with great music and opportunities to partner with three great organizations making a difference in Africa. The morning will begin with the Daraja Children’s Choir of Africa, who will be leading Southside in a concert of worship. Southside will also commission its short term mission team going with Brackenhurst Ministries to Nairobi, Kenya. To top it all off, Southside will have the unique and incredible opportunity to partner as a Church and as individuals with a new ministry to Southside, Children’s Hopechest. This is an excellent opportunity to get a glimpse of what God is doing in Africa and discover ways to get involved.
KARTS FOR KIDS
The Inaugural Karts for Kids event was held on Friday, January 29, 2010. Between events held in Peachtree City and Canton, GA, we were able to raise $8,000 for a kitchen in Adacar and sponsor 40 children.
Much more work is needed and there are still more than 300 orphans that need sponsors. Southside Church will be holding a “Day for Africa” on Sunday, June 6 to focus on some of the growing needs in Adacar, Uganda, as well as other communities in Africa.
If you are interested in sponsoring a child from Adacar, please contact Melanie Dale at melanie@wakinggiants.com.
We just returned from our trip to Uganda and will have more photos and videos soon. Stay tuned for more information on the 2011 Karts for Kids.

OVERVIEW
Introducing the Inaugural Karts for Kids Drive! We are teaming up with Children’s HopeChest to bring you a life-changing event — your life, and the lives of orphans living in Adecar, Uganda (View photos on Flickr). Join us as we create a procession of glowing golf carts that will drive through Peachtree City (Get it — “drive”=fundraiser and “drive”=driving golf carts!). You will have the opportunity to sponsor an orphan and have a direct impact in the life of a child. We also will have accessories handmade by Ugandan widows and local Peachtree City artists for sale, and the money raised will pay for the construction of a kitchen, storage, and meeting facility in Adecar.
